Personal background
Originally from Ottawa Canada, I've moved to Michigan in the United States to work with a telecommunications company as a senior programmer/analyst. I'm an amateur astronomer, horseback rider, martial artist (Taekwondo & Jiu-jitsu), pilot, firearms expert, computer and outdoors enthusiast.

The only thing more important that the above are my family and friends.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life exists. I believe that stating it does not roughly equates to stating one will win a given seven number lottery on a stated day with stated numbers. There is simply too much matter out there to definitively state that life exists nowhere else but earth. The unfortunate part is the incredibly vast distances involved, and the amount of time radio signals take to reach earth from these far off places.

I also think that Humans are currently venting plenty of signals into space that are and would be capable of being detected. Lets focus our energies on listening istead of blabbing more!

SETI at home is a fantastic idea, and I'm glad that I have this opportunity to contribute to the search.
