Profile: TulipVorlax

Personal background
Hi all ! I'm currently living at Montréal, Québec, Canada. Yes, I'm usully speaking french. I was born on october 30 in 1976. That will tell my age enven if I do not update the profile. TulipVorlax is an acronyme of my real name. Don't laugh; it was not easy to find. Two friends helped me...
I'm mostly a computer guy. I'm good with programming though i might never make a living out of it. Maybe as website designer...
Since a was a little boy, a really like sci-fi movies 'n all. Star Wars, Star Trek, Lost in Space... Mainly those where they moves from world to world 'n discover someting new and special everytimes. More recently i've really liked "Independence Day".
It's sad that we can't see the stars well when we live our whole life near a big city. I've never had a télescope...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI Home is a great project like no other (have you ever played Civilization II ? They have de SETI as a wonder of the world in that game). If we, the humans, ever find another civilisation from another world and the USA do not try to make it a big secret nor seems like a canular; then our world will never be the same again.
It might affect every single aspect of our lifes. There was a time when I was really hoping that it will happen soon. But what if they exist but they don't want us to find them ? They want to keep all theirs secrets and all their advanced technologies to themself...
That would be really sad, isn't it ? So we musn't loose hope. And we must try everything that we can do to find out if they'll like us or not. Sending beacons in every directions. What happen if we direct a laser beam trough space ? Or if we push meteorites toward Pluton and use them as beacons...
I think I might be long dead when we finally get some results. But my comp, a pentium 3 at 1.13GHz with 1Go SDRam) is often used only as a server to the internet for my friend. Running calcultion for the SETI will not affect it that much. But maybe i'll have to close the SETI when working in 3D rendering...
