Personal background
Hi all, this is Francesco Giovanni from Italy. I\\'m 23 years old and I study to hopefully become an engineer in the TLC branch. My studies together with friends have brought me to develop interests in computers and internet. Anyway I don\\'t consider myself a fanatic of neither of these.

I love music, nature painting and arts in general.

To be honest I love everything that seems to somehow stay still, when all the rest of the world frenetically runs towards not yet well accomplished targets.

Last but not least, I try keeping up every day to be a good christian (roman catholic), with help from friends and family.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I\\'m still not certain about why I run S@H, although some reasons seem more probable than others.

Recent readings and searches about the concept of \\"Structured Procrastination\\" (John Perry) are now bringing me to the thought that S@H is indeed one delightful expression of it.

Having your computer work for a scope, no matter which, gives you the impression of being useful to someone, or at least to yourself, even when you\\'re lying down in total lazyness.
S@H and distributed computing can have the side-effect of making people feel satisfied with themselves just because the\\'re giving away their CPU.

Do any of you feel the same?

Bye all!
