Personal background
I'm a member of Boinc.be, the biggest Belgian team. I live in Namur, a small town in the southern part of Belgium. I'm crunching Seti since 1997.

My hobbies are : computers (programming and troubleshooting), astronomy, electronics and comics.

I use the computers I have at work and at home to crunch units 24/7

I'm the Webmaster and active member of the CeNIM, a computer club for medicine doctors in Namur.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1)I discovered Seti@home in 1997, but knew the Seti project a long time ago.

2)Finding ET is a kid's dream (third type encounter...). Those computers just do mostly nothing so they may work for something interesting.

3) I'm quite convinced that there is or has been or shall be somewhere an extraterrestrial intelligence, but the probability we could find it by this way seems to me very thin. But if you don't try you'll never get it...

Transmit a signal, why not, but it will not arrive before years (hundreds, thousands...). When the little green men will get it (if they do), we'll probably be all dead for generations. Above all since the XXth century we send lots of things. I don't fear ET. If they are able to get here, their civilization should be cool enough to be peaceful...
