In my opinion the allmighty God is equal to aliens. Check out the Holy Bible and read it as it was a good sci-fi novel. That's all you need to start believing in aliens.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestial life exists. We will finally find the fact out, sooner or later. As benefits I count unity of the mankind and as dangers the alien technology and its warfare usage on earth.
It has already been done. Star Trek will tell you rest... =)
For testing purposes and for fun. Of course it would be nice to find out somethinhg, but I believe the thing we are looking for already exists on the earth surface.
