50 and dumb!
I'm an Electrical Engineer and hate seeing things going to waste.
I work from home and use my computer but having SETI onboard shows how little I use the it!
Still the computer is available and all it's using is a little power.
Something may come out of it - as long as its not from the Twilight Zone!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
No.
But it does no harm to check things out.
Life is a joke and we are it.
Benefits will come from any search but only to assist in our own end.

there is no use sending a beacon unless it is set to run for a long long long Time to tell the next joke - sorry - species - of our existence.
i'm a cynic - it allows the machine to do things.
