I'm a 25-year-old software engineer working for 3rdTech, a company in North
Carolina. I'm currently working on the software for a very spiffy wide-area
optical tracking system. I have a BS-CS from Harvey Mudd College, and a MS-CS
from UNC-Chapel Hill. My hobbies include video games, anime, playing piano,
messing with web stuff, and basking in the glow of Japanese pop culture.
In case you're wondering, the picture is not exactly my normal day-to-day
appearance. That's me cosplaying ("dressing up as") Jigen Daisuke, a
character from the long running anime franchise, Lupin the Third. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I believe that, given the vast size and age of the universe, the likelihood
that such a vastly improbable occurance as the rise of intelligent life would
occur more than once is, in fact, pretty good. I think solid prrof of
extraterrestrial life, or especially intelligence, would help us as a
civilization put a lot of things in perspective. |
