Yes, I believe there must be extraterrestrial life. I don't know if we could communcate with them though.
For starters; we may all be comming of age at the same time, the distance between us is very large, our first broadcasts are less than 100 light years away.
Secondly, do they communicate the same way? We believe the doffins are nearly as smart as we humans, but their mood of speach is to hard to break.
But, you never know, We could someday make contact; or maybe, they ARE already hearing us...
