Personal background
I am from Fresno, CA and i have a 2.4ghz, 1024MB/333 system i just put together to check my email. I figured the rest of the power this beast has could be put to good use here. I am a masters student in Criminology and about to go to law school. I drive a 1989 Mazda mx-6 which has a kelly blue book value of $900. I work in construction doing mindless work. I have two huge bookshelves full of books, but no cable. In fact, I really hat the TV. I want to kill them, the evil bastards that they are. I smoke crack, and i am not ashamed to admit it. Thats about it. Peace
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
1. It is quite possible that extraterrestrial life exists, although the holy rollers would believe god created only man, i think it just might be possible in this sort of big universe that maybe there is an amoeba-like life form living somehwere, or even a lifeform with intelligence far surpassing the rather dumb human race. If we do discover extraterrestrial life i think the most powerful govwernments will of course rush over and begin taking over the planet/star/galaxy where these extraterrestrials live. Benefits would be new types of foods and languages to learn, dangers could include interterrestrial breeding, and the almost certain fact that the extraterrestrials will learn quickly that earthlings are selfish assholes.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?
2. i dunno, whatever we send should be in esperanto, since that is the universal language

Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?
3. nothing better to do. I think it is great, reeking of socialism. If only banks would distribute their money for counting in the same way or government distributing power to each and evry man....this would be a great place. Nah. Never in America.
