Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that ET life exists. I feel that communication with other life will not be so forthcoming. The chances that we will be able to relate to other intelligent life on anything but the most primal of topics is just nuts given that evolutionary paths can not be the same. There is also a 50-50 chance that a "First Contact" situation will not go so well. Maybe they will eat us... Maybe we will eat them... This could be damaging indeed!
