Profile: Peter V. Amerl

Personal background
I am a research scientict working in space physics and studying the near earth environment. Favourite activities are learning about basic science, technology, and placing these two together into functional instruments. I do have fun with a number of other activities too: cycling, playing squash, swimming, and when possible hiking.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It would be quite arrogant of us to think that we are alone in the universe. Who knows what another intelligent life form would look like and whether they were/are/will be capable of emitting signals that we can detect. Either way, if we do not look, we never will know whether someone else "is out there".
