Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I feel that there is certainly other life out there, and most likely other intelligent life. Will we find it in our life-time? No for sure if we don't keep looking, but otherwise who can say.

I think that a beacon of sorts would be a great idea (even though TV and Radio signals already make us a beacon). It should describe where we are in the galaxy, maybe we could use Sol's spectrum to help them identify us. We should also include a powerful signal that is naturaly improbable (i.e. prime numbers) to get their attention.

I think that the SETI project needs to be expanded to allow for a larger area to be scaned. The current bubble that we can detect signals from is awfully small.
