Personal background
Hey Everyone!

I'm 25, live in Sydney, Australia and work in IT in the Leisure Industry (looking after the corporate network & sports timing system for THE most well known swimming pool in Australia)

For fun I go mountain biking, surfing and am also involved in Surf Lifesaving. On the side I also fix all my friends computers for them and am a big fan of the barter system (it's all about who you know and what you can do for them).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does life exist out there?

OF COURSE! How can it not? The very thought of being alone in this HUGE universe is silly to me!

What exactly that life is? That is my question I ponder every time I look up and see the stars at night...

Is it friendly? Does it even communicate similarly to us? Is it sentinent? Are we the top of the food chain - or are they? Do they look out as we do? Do they love? Or do they destroy each other as we do? Can we learn from them? Have they already examined us and our world and "tagged" it? Do they have gods? Or science? Do they search for the meaning of life? Or are they content? Do they have a concept of good & evil as we do?

Hmmm...

SETI@home - I think that it is good that we are hungry for answers to the unknown. I believe that being content can arrest growth, and without growth we are lost. Space on Earth for more people is rapidly declining, and with it the health of the world. We need to get off this world and go visit the neighbours and see if they want to come play! Exploration is the key to our continuing existence...
