Short But Sweet Bio:
I was born in Thunder Bay, Ontairo and moved around all over Ontiaro as a child, then on to St. John's N.B. and then onto South Korea and finaly ending up in Calgary, Alberta when I was 10. I graduated from Henry Wise Wood High School and then moved onto the University of Calgary - Faculty of Engineering, dropped out and eventually ended up at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). I graduated with honors from the program of Computer Engineering Technology. After graduation I started working as a programer in C and Assembly for Galvanic Analytical Systems and then moving on to Galvanic Applied Sciences as a programer and the server administrator. Eventually I was offered a position with SAIT. I started off as a tutor in a internet enabled learning program and grew into their server administrator. I was then offered a contract as part of the team implementing a product called "The Learning Manager" for SAIT. I eventually took another position with SAIT as a Technical Systems Analyst. After SAIT and I parted ways I looked for work for several months, eventually finding a position with the Government of Saskatchewan in the Saskatchewan Environment, Information Management Branch as a Technical Analyst. I have been living in Prince Albert for about 2 years now.
Hobbies:
My hobbies are fairly standard, messing around with my computers, reading, watching movies and web surfing. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I firmly beleive that extraterrestrial life does exist in our universe. We will most likely discover it through the use of such projects as SETI@home and the use of long range satelites such as Voyager. I beleive that the discovery of life will help bring the human race together and help us to solve our differences. With the realization that there are others out there, and the possibility of communication, how can we possiblily hope to understand them if we can't understand ourselves.
I beleive that we as humans should begin transmitting a beacon to other life, of exactly the nature that SETI is searching for. It stands to reason that if we are searching for it, we should also be sending it, as other intelligent beings are most likely searching along the same paths we are.
I run SETI@home to help show my support for the project and to provide some use for my machine that will benifit all of us.
Keep Up The Great Work.
