I'm a sort of unusual pseudo-hippy type bloke with altogether too much time to think at present about wasted opportunities, having a gargantuan gap in serious employment and just having "started life" at the Majick Age.
I usually like to hack away in C under Unix or whatever and come up with most satisfying, nicely-crafted works with which my clients are diliriously happy. Everyone seems to be so obsessively picky about what you can list on your CV these days with little or no interest in what's behind the mnemonics and acronyms ...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It's a splendid collaboration - I just wish I could have got myself that Alpha box a few years ago and have been bashing out a work unit every hour or so to add to my collection!
I'm looking forward to this BOINC stuff being fully operational, too ...
