Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there are some sorts of life forms that we, as humans, can understand. I think it's pretty tough to detect anything that is not yet "explainable in our science" but there might be a chance. The question that I want to ask is that, If we end up find or discover something out there, what are we going to do about it? If humans transmit a beacon for others to find us, how are they going to detect us? If anything out there advanced enough to find us, those must be similar to us. I often wonder if we can find something that is totally different from us. Wouldn't it be funny if find something out there and end up revealing unknown truth about us? SETI@home is a very interesting project to participate. I wish that we could discover something out there in my lifetime.
