Personal background
I am 52 years old and I am an enthusiast of space exploration since I was 5.

Currently I am active in politics and I have participated in writing the Science and Technology Law for the State of Mexico, now I am an observer in the evolution of the Mexican Space Agency.

I am an active Free Software supporter and I am starting an Educational Project named Information Technologies Entrepreneur oriented to train people on Web programming using LAMP for small and medium organizations. This project includes training in LAMP, Quality pratices and procedures and the formation of software development clusters. It is oriented for handicaped people, women or people older than 40, for these groups is very difficult to get a job in Mexico, and the program can be a good alternative.

Besides I am a Catholic and I participate very actively in my parrish.

I have a daughter who works in philosophy of sciences and a son that is working on political marketing and public relations.

My wife operates a small social development center.

Of course, I have read Jules Verne, Asimov, Poul Anderson et al and I am a trekkie.

I have never finished a career but I have studied mathematics, business adiministration, sociology and recently political sciences and philosophy.

I started as a programmer for IBM 360 equipments in 1969, and programmed Cobol for twenty years. Then I discovered Unix in 1990 and Linux in 1999.

What else can I say?. I like to cook and hear Jazz from time to time.

I have no money, no car, one dog, one cat and 4 computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am convinced that extraterrestrial life exists and it is good for us (mankind) to look for it and find it, so when I knew about the project I was very happy to participate.

I think this kind of programs are important and adhering to them in a democratic way represents an opportunity for the human citizen to play a part in Space exploration.

By now I have been some years out of the project but I am getting back and I am very enthusiastic to be here again.

I am confident that the first hint of intelligent extraterrestrial life will come from this project and I will be very proud of being a part of it.
