Personal background

PERSONAL:

I am a 40-year-old living in League City, TX. I'm married, with two children. My favorite past-time is spending time with my family. These days, I'm active in Cub Scouting. My son and I have been doing karate for almost three years. I coach soccer and little league baseball. I also enjoy playing the piano (which I've done all my life), and believe it or not, I enjoy my work.

EMPLOYMENT:

IBM employs me as technical lead and lead architect, on the M601 SAN Project. I've been doing storage for over seven years, and previous to this project, I was working with hierarchical storage on the High Performance Storage System (HPSS).

OTHER:

Well, in the Fall of 2002, I decided to cut out TV, and I decided to go back to school. I was working on my Masters in Computer Science at the University of Houston, Clear Lake. After two semesters, I had to drop out for a couple of semesters because of work... bummer! The work I do now requires a lot of travel... yet another bummer!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

SETI:

I guess the SETI project is a step in the right direction. I wish there was more we could do. The seti@home project is really a neat distributed application.

MY THOUGHTS:

I hope we are not alone in the universe. Someday, we will venture beyond our solar system. The Star Trek dream would be an awesome reality.
