Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. About six miles away from the Radio Telescope and witness the ground breaking and the erection of he huge concrete columns which support the enourmous cabin which directs the radar pulses and receives the signals at the focal point. It was very exciting and we would go there as often as we could to witness the creation of a Historical site.
As a matter of fact, the Rio Grande of Arecibo, yearly has some fish that goes up the river to tis various sources and lays their eggs. The fingerlings are know to us locals, as SETI. Once they get their way into the ocean I do not know what fish they grow to be and what is it called.
Whether Seti was named after the fingerling, I dont know, but the fingerling was first.
