I'm a 60 years old astronomy enthusiast. I have been to Arecibo
and watched the SETI Institute scientists "listen" for ET. I
just hope I'm around when ET decdies to phone.
My real job is a software maintanence consultant - I run a business
which used to publish a magazine. Now we sell books for software
maintainers.
I enjoy travel, photography, entertaining, astronomy, theater and
just about anything involving people.
I'm a native and 4th generation San Franciscian from a Pioneer family.

I can't imagine that all this vast real estate out there is just
for us. So yes, I believe there are other civilizations out there.
It would be wonderful to transmit a beacon - even if it means that
it won't be received by any other star for generations to come.
