Personal background
I were many hats especially in the job catagory. I own and operate and antique shop, I teach G.E.D. two days a week at the local community college, I teach current events at both a retirement home and a group home for people with mental disorders, and last but not least I am substitute teacher in the local county jail.

My hobbies are equally diverse. They include collecting any and all science fiction memorablia, collecting vintage clothing, primarily from the victorian era. I also collect antique pens and pencils, antique barrets, dolphins, and banks.

My friends tell me that my passport reads like a world atlas. My goal is to reach all 7 continents. I still need to visit Asia, Antartica and Australia. There is no doubt that I will reach those places, it just a matter of time.

While retirement is a long way away, I plan to write a book. Something in the area of science fiction. I have way to many story lines running around in my head not to. I know it sounds silly but I can dream up a science fiction story around just about anything.

I just joined seti@home today. It was 'cosmic' to find the site now as I am in the middle of reading "Contact" by Carl Sagan. The story is about seti and extraterrestrial life.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does extraterrestrial life exsist? I'd bet my last dollar it does. Why you ask.
Because the universe is huge and we only know a tiny bit about it. Besides that aren't people who say it isn't possible being just a little arragant?

The proof that extraterrestrial life exists is out there but how, when and why we find it is left to science fiction. That is for now at least. Look at it this way at one time Buck Rogers was science fiction, but now we think almost nothing of going to the moon.

The possible risks and benifits to man kind are enormous. An entire book could be written on the subject, so I will not even try to answer it in just a few sentences.

Before humanity seeks out other life we need to get our own act together. Unfortantly there are to many people who don't understand what is means to human, much less what it means to respect life, and if we can't respect the lives of one another how are we going to respect alien life?

The only things I can say about seti@home is it is entirely to difficult to find the contact us page and there is no way to forward the page to others who might be interested.
