I'm from Leesburg, Virginia, USA and am a retired network systems engineer.
I currently host SETI@home on Windows and Linux PCs attached to my home LAN.
I switched to the BOINC version of SETI@Home in October 2005. Prior to that, I had completed over 500 work units on the original version.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Who knows what's really out there? If running SETI@home results in the discovery of ETI more the better I guess.
