Profile: Christoffer Hecksen

Personal background
Hello,

My name is Christoffer and this is a short refferee about me.

I'm an emploee working hours and have a standby schedule for a gas-station at the moment, that gives me time and just about enough money to be home to play with the computers testing and learning things along the way.

Main interest is medival ages.
Basiclly i have started with a webpage for the society and moved on to the MCSE learning course. Along with learning how to forge an armour or maybe even brew some mead. :)

There is also alot of gaming on the Everquest servers, i can be reached at Torvonnilius usally under Yaern or Yaernin. I know i had a bad imagination that day when i chose my names.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Do you think extraterrestrial life exists? If so, when and how will humans discover it? What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?

- My hopes and fears is that they if existing is a civilization like us searching for others and my fear is that this might turn out to be a sience project a alien boy/girl is doing for his sience-class.
I'm not sure of the consequensces this kind of discovery would be, it might not be as good as we want it to be.

2. Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find? If so, what information should we send?

- I belive they have seen it all, there is probably tons of newsreports bouncing of the earth and transmitts out to space so if they have picked that up then anything we send out as a peaceloving society would be a contridiction.
We cant even uphold peace on our own planet what makes people think we can do it with another planet?

3. Why do you run SETI@home? What are your views about the project? Any suggestions?

- I havnt done much to aid the community or my next door neighbour so i see this as a way to perhaps help many with beeing a part of something greater.
I think that this is a good idea and i find it interesting enough to keep on doing it otherwise i would never have started it i belive.
