Do I think extraterrestrial life exists ? Of course I do, there are billions of billions of stars in the universe, and it would be very very strange if we were alone... The problem is the time. The humans have existed for some millions of years now, and we could create radio signal for only some dozens of years. And the universe is at least 3 billions years old. So I think that extraterrestrial life does exist but we will certainly never discover it, or it will be a big big big luck.
According we will discover aliens, they probably will still in the stone age, or maybe their thechnology would be thousands of years older than ours. And I thnik it's not obvious that this life should be based on carbon, because there are others elements that could be the base of life. But it would be the greatest discover of every time.
So, I run setiathome because the chance does exist although the probability is almost zero. |
