Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extraterrestrial life does exsits, i believe we have already made contact with them but it is being covered up by the Goverments of various countries. The possible benefits would be to advance our culture to an extent where our technological capabilities would enable us to create our own Space craft and increase our knowledge of space and time itself. The only possible danger of such a discover is that we may use any knowledge we find against any nations or beings, for our own gains.
I dont think humans becoming becons is a good idea. Could be like an episode of South Park with Cartman and the reciever coming out of his you know what !
But if we did we could send valuable information to further the other beings knowledge of our planet.
I run SETI@home to see if i can process some vitale information that will lead us to the answer that everyone should be, that there is life out there in space on different planets to our own. I think you should advertise more to encourage people to add there PC's to a good cause.
