Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I believe without a doubt that extraterrestial life exists, given the size of the universe and the vast number of stars and galaxies.
Should humans transmit a beacon? We've basically been doing that since radio and TV were invented. I can't imagine what an intelligent civilization would think of us though.
I run the project mainly because I am a computer professional and find the concept of this project very interesting. I also believe the human species needs to find evidence of life beyond earth, maybe that will help be more tolerant to their fellow man.
