Personal background
I'm an Executive Software Engineer for a market research company. I have always had a fascination for the stars. I don't know if I believe in aliens of the type that many describe. I believe, unfortunately, that it is conceivable that if there is life out there, it would be primitive. However, I am sure, that one day, we will be visited by a kind and gracious alien and that we will learn a great deal from it. Its voice the loudest, yet it whispers quietly...time will tell...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
This project is a true marvel. An antenna that huge couldn't possibly miss anything. I strongly believe that humans should transmit something. Our transmission signal should be a simple 1.4GHz carrier frequency with sub-harmonics attached that transmit data like mathematical equations and images. The math equations should consist of vertical bars arranged in order to represent each number. Images should be sent monochromatically as color would complicate the harmonic. Sound should also be arranged with music of every genre and voices as well. We must remember that life on other planets, be it primitive or not, will also be curious about their sole existence. This SETI project could go far.
