Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Moving to the country has provided me with clear skies at night and a view of the Milky way that is spectacular. This area of the country seems to attract unusual objects in the sky...many I can't explain. I keep an open mind. I do believe that we are not alone and that life does exist elsewhere. I also believe contact has been made and if there were danger in this, it would have shown itself long ago. The only danger I percieve, is the narrowness of the masses and the panic that such public contact might provide. But I feel we are being prepped in a sense for this contact. Let's face it, you can look in candy stores, supermarkets, all the media and see a familiar face. Is this the face of our future? Is this our creator or cloner? Is this our God? Who is to say. There are many things today that we could not conceive of just 50 years ago. I think the Seti program offers believes a way to speak their views in a silent and positive way...without being called a nut case. I hope that their beacon finds its mark and is answered so all the world will have concrete proof life exists elsewhere. It may just be the first small step in discovering the wonders of life beyond this planet and galaxy that non believers need...Thank you Seti for letting me have the opportunity to be part of your search.
