Profile: Curtis Rogers

Personal background
I was born in Connecticut and lived there till I was about 12, then grew up the rest of my life in South Carolina. I currently live in Hopkins, SC, and work in Columbia, SC, as the Continuing Education Coordinator for the South Carolina State Library. I have some pretty esoteric hobbies like collecting coins and old postcards from the Azores Islands. Being half Azorean, I find the islands fascinating and actually got to visit there to study Portuguese and Azorean Culture at the Univ. of the Azores summer 2001. My web site has an Azores page that I've been putting together for some time now so feel free to check it out: http://www.curtisrogers.info
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that it would be a pretty big waste of space if ET life didn't exist and I also think it is very 'ethnocentric' on the part of many non-believers to think we're alone. Running SETI@Home helps to assist the search. The more people that participate, the better the chance of finding ET life in our known Universe.
