| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run SETI for the purpose of assisting with, what I see atleast, a good cause. I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists. If the universe is infinite in size, and it has existed for eternity from our standpoint, then speaking of probability...... there would have been infinite possibilities for the creation of another solar system just like ours. An infinite amount of possibilities is more than enough to allow anything to happen. For this reason, I do believe that there is extraterrestrial life. As of now, I'm not sure if the discovery of this phenomenon would be beneficial or detrimental to our own society. But for now, I don't see anything wrong in the search for intelligence outside of our own. |
