Profile: Bob Geddes

Personal background
I am a 72 year old retired bean counter from a large International Public Accounting firm.I spend my time travelling, to visit family, especially my grandchildren. My leisure time is spent playing golf, snooker and other pool games, contract and duplicate bridge, and the WWWeb. Science fiction novels introduced me, as a teenager, and suceeded in hooking me, to the world of science fact and speculation.I am a firm believer in evolution, and ETI.
However I cannot comprehend what was before the "Big Bang"Something or someone had to be the creator.I wish I knew...it couldn't have just happened.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I cannot believe that we are alone. The universe has been around for billions of years with billions and billions and billions of star systems and planets(thanks Carl Sagan)
It just couldn't happen that life is confined to one insignificant planet in an insignificant star system in a run of the mill galaxie.
Humans should transmit a beacon containing details of where we are and where we are in evolution.
I run SETI@ home in the hope that I can contribute something to the grand scheme of the universe.
