| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| You have to wonder at the feasibility of looking for radio waves. Interstellar communication at light speed just isn't practical. Any expanding species must either develop faster than light communications (subspace? dunno 'bout that. Quantum entanglement? perhaps). I don't think SETI will find this type of communication with radio telescopes. But, maybe we'll find some weird anomaly that's interesting for other reasons. If nothing else, 100% CPU usage heats my house well in the winter. |
