Personal background
I am a h/w s/w technical type with passion to understand the not-obvious side of life, but admittedly growing concerned for that which is taken for granted. Hobbies include chess, philosophy, math, cosmology, c , reading, sci-fi, the simpsons, everything computer and network related and on and on.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
For me, Seti satisfies a need to be part of something bigger—to bridge the gaps. I am proud to be associated with a quest that continues in the face of undeniable uncertainty. Drake’s numbers, those of current understanding, suggest, just maybe, earth not the only planet sheltering intelligent life. But for that ever-present nag in the shadows that eats at me and maybe others, how realistic is this search? That’s the beauty of this drive and all other pursuit to understand, doubt is the shadow we must bring to light.

It is those that push to know, the courage of those in front seeking the most challenging questions (of the many, one most genuine soul, Carl Sagan), that inspire us to know more when maybe, otherwise, we pause too satisfied. It adds to the depth and breadth of life to ponder and accept that much is yet to be learned, not just beyond the deep blue of our sky, but of ourselves.

Thank You Seti.
