Personal background
I am currently a student at the University of Glasgow and I am studying Computer Science and Economics.
In my spare time I mainly enjoy programming, website editing and Mountain Biking.
I run Seti@Home on an XP1900 but first started in 1999 and then I ran it on an old Celeron 333. I also have an Amstrad 1512 but I don't run Seti@Home on it! I don't normally use it but when I do it is for x86 assembly programming.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that extraterrestrial life does exist however they may be less advanced then we are.
I think that it is most likely that humans will discover by space travel though if they are more advanced then we are then may stumble across our little planet or one of our space craft.
The main danger of discovering extraterrestrial life is that if they are hostile and more advanced than we are the it could be the end of the human race as we know it.
The advantages are co-operation and shared technology and resources.
I run Seti@Home because every CPU cycle counts!
