Located in Palm Harbor Florida - I'm a senior systems analyst for a major US corporation. Included in my hobbies are photography (I specialize in lightning photography), Computer animation and video production.
I believe that the SETI program is important and I'm very happy that I can contribute, even if in a small way!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I find it more difficult to believe that with such a vast universe life only developed on this planet. I'm sure that we will discover more primitive extraterrestrial life life forms before we find evidence of extraterrestrial intelligence. As far as benefits and dangers - I believe it will have more impact on our philosophy and religion than any possible physical danger!
2. Why not transmit a beacon into space? In many ways we've already been doing it since we started transmitting radio signals!
3. I run SETI@home to have some impact and assistance to the program, not matter how small it may be!
