Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the SETI project is timely and exciting. As with anything new, it is fraught with both excitement as well as danger.

Who or what is out there? Would they be friend or foe? Are we ready or are we self important to assume we can handle meeting another race?

I have a theory... Imagine (to paraphrase John Lennon) a world with no borders. No arguments about which country is best, or which religion. One truly united globe. And a people not made up of different ethnic backgrounds either. One big happy family. No whites, no blacks, no yellows... just humanity.

I believe that when we can reach this level of understanding, when we are a "whole" people, we will finally be ready for whatever awaits us in the stars.
