Personal background
I am 24 year old molecular biologist from Finland. Hobbies include astoronomy, reef aquariums, computer and roleplaying games. I am also hugely interested about astrobiology and...well... about almost all natural sciences... the more complex thing, the more interesting it is... :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. As a molecular biologist I see it almost inevitable that there is life out there, but to the question whether there is intelligent life I say that it is too complex question to be answered here. Short version... probably yes, but it might be too far a way to be reached with our technology

2. Not yet, I think. Our space technolgy is so "poor" that we should not make too much noise about us. Not before we can handle even basic routine space flight even to our own moon. Unfortunaly there seems to be too many unvisionary political leaders which make our advancement even more slower. On the other hand, our radar and television might be enoughly "noisy" to make us known...if there is anobody to notice us...

3. I appreciate your project, and as a computer oriented molecular biologist I like the idea that my own computer can give its own capcasity to this noble purpose
