Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Considering the size of the Universe and even given the various factors that have contibuted to Earth containing intelligent life - such as the exact right distance from the sun and that Jupiter's gravity acts as a giant vaccuum cleaner absorbing comets, asteroids etc - thus meaning Earth has not had plannet killing impacts for a while now - there must be other systems with the same setup as us - somewhere.
Being part of SETI to me means contributing to something that fascinates me and I'm sure one day will lead to the discovery of intelligent life elsewhere - and then maybe we can stop fighting amongst ourselves as a planet and start thinking more about the bigger picture...
