Personal background
I was born in Athens, Greece in 1984. Since then i have lived in Seattle, Northern California, Southern England and now im living in San Francisco. My passions in life are Computers, Photography and Astronomy. I am very interested in the colonization of mars by humans. I can't wait for the MER missions early in 2004 and then later in the year, the Casini Saturn orbital insertion. Those should be very exciting. You can visit my website at www.thesolarnet.com
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I am certain that extraterrestrial life exists. This is because if you hypothesize the universe as a sandy beach, then every grain of sand represents a single galaxy. Each galaxy contains an average of 6 billion stars. Around any one of these stars, a planet that houses life might orbit. So there are almost infinite possibilities for life. So many possibilities that it would be a stupendous fact if this were the only living planet. There is a chance that we might discover life in our celestial 'back yard' when probes visit Saturn's Titan moon and later Europa in the Jovian system. Any life that might be discovered would be basic but it would be life never the less. I think that more resources should be concentrated on the SETI project because the more we look the more chance of success. A major benefit for humanity if extraterrestrial life where to be discovered is that all inter-human aggression and hate would come to an end. This is because the innate 'us and them' instinct in us would be shifted from the division between different human races, to mankind and the extraterrestrials. Another benefit is that religion is the cause of most division and aggression in the world today. Most of the major religions state in one way or another that life on earth is the sole creation of a 'God'. So a discovery of extraterrestrial life would disprove this and bring to an end the savage division of beliefs that have divided this beautiful world over the last two millennia.

I think that mankind should transmit a beacon signal out into the universe. This is because it would aid our search for extraterrestrial life, as any other civilizations out in the cosmos that are also looking for life would hear our signal and would know where to send their signal for us to find. I think that we should transmit music and also a greeting in the many languages of our earth.
