I'm 53 year old man currently living in Florida. For 23 years I designed computers including distributed processing systems used by observitories and satellites to filter out atmospheric distortions in images. My favorite design during that time was one that allowed 8 independent processors to communicate pseudo-simultaneously with each other at very high speeds. Today after retiring from that work I write songs.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes I do beleive that there is life on other planets. The big question is do we have the technology to find it yet. I just hope that we do because when they are found it may bring the people of earth together in peace for a change to know that we are not alone in this universe. The tarnsmission of a beacon to me seems to be not a very useful idea because of a number of questions such as what direction, what frequency, or even would some other race on another panet have the technology to receive it. I run Seti@home because Despite my doubts about if we have the correct technology I still would like to solve the question of are we alone.
