I work in space flight training here at Johnson Space Center and couldn't ask for a better job. I've been a space buff since junior high school and joined the Air Force with the hopes of becoming an astronaut someday. However, medical reasons cancelled that idea so now I'm doing the next best thing which is training astronauts.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, I can go both ways on the existence of extraterrestrial life. I remember reading Car Sagan's Contact when I was in the eight grade and being fascinated by the idea of Earth being contacted by an alien race. As a Christian I believe God created the universe and life on this planet. It's also possible He created life elsewhere in the universe - we just don't know. I also think it's possible we are the only intelligent life He did create. The great thing about science is how we can use it to learn more about our universe and ouselves.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
