Personal background
Graduated mining engineer, currently working as system administrator/programmer.
Went trough a lot of jobs, most of them temporary. Full time employed for last 11 years.
As a kid I was introduced by my father to something called SF. I was mmmm... 9 years old? It makes a long 31 years accompained by SF of all kinds...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There must be something out there. Probably, something intelligent. It is dictated by a law of big number and statistics.
Othervise, we are alone... which is horrifying tought. And biggest joke of mother nature.
If there is a chance that *they* are communicating by radio, and there is software to analyze recordings, and someone wants help of my computer in that task... hey, my computer is anyway almost constantly on. And I'm not using it all the time. So I let my machine help in this giant task.
If there is other way of communication, and I can help analyzing data, I'll do that also.

Oh, yes... I'd like to meet them, because if they are out there, logic dictates that they are peacefull.
