Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Distributed computing fascinates me in a way that huge amount of terraflops of operation and terrabytes of data are being managed on a daily basis. Right now this immense amount of information running around is pretty awesome. Though at some point in time in the future, this volume of information will be managed by a single tiny handheld pc or cellphone.

With regards to SETI, I believe that this technology is still at its infancy stage. There might be other efficient and more accurate ways of searching for extra-terrestial life that is still to be developed. But until that hasn't come up, it's good that we started to work on this so that future generations can use this present data to develop an even more advanced system of searching for E.T.

Who knows? They might name an entire galaxy in honor of my name. ;-)
