I started running SETI because I was fascinated by the idea of distributed computing. I am currently working on building a small beowulf cluster at home just to run SETI.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI because I would like to know if something is out there besides us. I also use SETI as a more real world benchmark for CPU power.
