Personal background
I was an secretary at Michigan State University off and on for 38 years. While at at MSU I worked for Abrams Planetarium, the Astronomy Department, Animal Science Department, Media Communications, and many other departments through Office Services (a temporary placement office of the university).

When not at MSU I was an administrative secretary and editor for the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (9 years), sold printing (2 years), and was an editor and designer in the public relations office of a hospital (2 years). I retired in 1998.

My husband was also a university employee and retired as communications director of the University Development Program in 1998.

I have been married to my present husband for 37 years and am the mother of three daughters: Kim, 41; Deborah, 35; and Mary Ellen who would have been 32 this year but was killed in an automobile accident when she was 15. Kim has three boys who range in age from 14 to 14 and Deb has two daughters, 5 and almost 3.

We recently moved from Lansing to Grand Rapids to be nearer Deborah and her husband Don and their daughters, Jessica and Alexandra.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I believe extraterrestrial life exists and I think it will be discovered through programs such as SETI. I am not sure of the benefits and dangers of such a discovery but it would sure be a collosal discovery.

I run SETI@home because of my interest and background in astronomy and I think it's a great program.
