I am 28 years of age (in 2002), work as a social worker and researcher with people with mental retardation. When i am not working, i like to be with friends. I have been with SETI for a few months now and still have not lost faith (in that there is life out there!). :) AK
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home:

Oh, i don't know when and how we will discover extraterrestrial life! That's the beauty of it! Not knowing! Imagine Voyager crew (in ST) knowing about the day they'd made it to Earth! It was bad enough that their captain came back from the future to drag them back - they just wanted to do it their own slow-pace way! That's how i think our finding out that there is more to us out there, will be, slow and nerve-wrecking!

Hmmm, i am not sure about sending a beacon! I don't want to be found... i want to find others! It's not that we are lost or anything, so why send a signal for others to see and gather around!? Nah, i prefer to think of ourselves as explorers of the universe! Then, we get to find others!

So, i guess the project is good, if anything it's a good start, doesn't hurt anyone and who knows, maybe it gets to help find some proof of what we are looking for. AK
