Personal background
I was born in 1970 and have always felt that my brother, who was born just before we first landed on the moon, was lucky. I wish I had been there even if I was too young to know it.

I think of fossil fuels and pollution and the chaos of this planet and then look up at night to see the majesty around us in awe.

I wish that NASA would take the world leaders like Arafat and Sharon into orbit so they can see how stupid their little wars are, how small the Earth is and how small their country is.

I wish the Hubble Telescope would focus on the Lunar Landing site so I can see the flag and landing craft that are on that extraterrestrial body. Man needs to reach for the stars to keep growing. Otherwise we just quibble over our petty problems here on earth. Reaching into space helps us to grow much faster. The Moon gave us computers. A mission to Mars would result in technology we haven't even imagined.

The Olympics and World Fairs just don't attract the attention they used to. They no longer unify us, the divide us with scandals. We are all slipping backwards into Nationalistic/Individualistic view. We need to begin to think on a global level. We need to think about everybody and the future.

Thanks Seti@Home for helping us a dream.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm sure there is life out there.

I'm also that there are good ones and buy ones. The question I have is, if there is life out there, and for some reason they are not making alot of noise, then perhaps there is a good reason for not making noise. We should wait to send out a beacon until we know more about what were dealing with out there.

I'm in seti@home because I'm a computer scientist. I love what computers an do and Seti@Home is really a cutting edge idea that actually works. I think soon there will be other efforts that will use this model to increase the computation power of our computers.
