Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I'm a firm beleiver that there is an unlimited amount of life out there! Unfortunately we are talking about such great distances that the logical way we will find it is through radio waves. In my opinion it's only a matter of time before we "stumble" upon their signals.

Yes, we should definately transmit information about ourselves for others to find, such as info about ourselves. We should maybe restrict our information not to contain planetary composition and other information which theoretically could be used in the wrong hands as a reason for invasion, though I think this quite unlikely.

I run SETI@HOME because I strongly endorse any "public" attemt in finding alien life. It's my hope that such information will be made public as soon as it's received. It will quelch a lot of religios beliefs which unfortunately cause much more damage to our civilization than anything else, as well as answer alot of questions about our own existance.
