I think there are other inteligences out there but I think we won't discover them in my lifetime! Benefits hmmm who knows anything is possible! Dangers we might put our proverbial foot in it! Leaders will be looking for that campaign winning moment, get political and make humans look stupid! Should let normal people say "hi!" We could transmit a full encyclopedia in binary form, that should give other inteligences some reading matter for the journey, then music of all kinds.
