Personal background
Hello I am Jay from the midwest of the United States. I am 28 years of age. My current hobbies include computers, formula 1 auto racing, & working to pay my light bill so Seti can run.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think that extraterrestrial life exists in this universe. I also feel that with enough support humans may discover it. Some of the possible benefits of making contact may be the discovery of new medicines, cures for diseases & new advanced technologies. Possible dangers of contact may be hostile civilizations, diseases, or the destruction of Planet Earth.

Currently the human race is transmitting a beacon for others to find us. The reason that I say that is, we have been transmitting radio, television, micro-wave & wireless signals for years. We are currently beaming out all kinds of information, human beings at their best & worst.

I have several reasons for running Seti & soon to be Astropulse, is it helps out science as a whole. It helps out Berkeley. It is fun to work to move up in the project statistics. It allows me to get a new pc every so often.
My computer is idle most of the day, so it should do something.

My current views on the project are. I wish that the Seti team had more funds. That more people would contribute computer time. The Seti team had more resources to weed out the cheaters.

Currently the project is running very smoothly.
